The summer school is an open event accessible to the entire student and research community in materials science, from undergraduate to postdoctoral levels. Again, this year, the Advanced Materials Academy is joining the RQÉMP team in organizing the summer school. Over three days, the program will feature a wide range of talks covering the different research axes of the RQMP and will include two training sessions offered through the Academy’s program. Professors from academia and experts from professional environments will share their expertise through a diverse series of presentations. Networking activities, a poster session, and a competition for the best student presentation will also be part of the program. This is the perfect opportunity to refine your presentation skills while having a chance to win a prize.
The 2026 edition will take place at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, from August 12 to 14, 2026.
Registration fees are $260 for participants requiring accommodation and $200 for those arranging their own lodging. These fees cover all planned activities, including talks, networking opportunities, round‑trip transportation between Montréal and Sherbrooke, as well as meals. A receipt and a certificate of participation will be provided to facilitate reimbursement by your research group.
Among our invited speakers, we are pleased to welcome:
- Claude Bourbonnais – Theory, magnetism, superconductivity, phase transitions
- Bill Baloukas – Experimental physics, thin‑film deposition, optical properties of materials
- Leonard R. MacGillivray – Crystal engineering, green chemistry
- Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) – Introduction to Neuroinclusion, delivered by Pauline Minkoue
- Sustainable Development -The Circular Economy, delivered by Riadh Mestiri
