For some time now, the RQMP has been implementing various initiatives to recognize the importance of our research professionals in the success of the RQMP. Their place in the research ecosystem is crucial! They train the next generation, are experts in their field, manage instrumental platforms and/or projects, etc.
The first initiative was to dedicate a page to their on our website, the second to set up a policy of recognition of work. Today we are setting up the RQMP Research Professional Award. This recognition award will be presented at the RQMP Grand Conference on May 23. The winner will be selected by a committee of professors from all RQMP universities from among the applications received. Peer selection makes this award legitimate and will enhance the recipient’s CV.
A professional of the RQMP is any research employee paid, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly by RQMP funds. More concretely, all the managers of common platforms are eligible, and all research staff whose salary comes from the RQMP portion of the GCM/CPM/IQ/3iT or the “support of the vice-rectors of research at the RQMP” portion of the Université de Montréal, Polytechnique, Université de Sherbrooke, McGill. If you are paid by a project grant from a professor, you are not eligible.
To apply: send your CV and a letter presenting your contributions to the RQMP in a single PDF file by Friday, May 9, 5 p.m, at chloe.paquet@umontreal.ca. A committee will be responsible for naming the winner of the RQMP first prize for the research professional.
