To recognize the importance of our research professionals to the success of the RQMP, the direction has established the RQMP Research Staff Award. They play a truly crucial role in the research ecosystem! They train the next generation of researchers, are experts in their respective fields, manage instrumentation platforms and/or research projects, and much more.

The award is granted based on nominations and a selection process conducted by a committee of RQMP professors, who evaluate candidates’ scientific excellence and their overall impact on the RQMP.

On June 12, 2026, Josianne Lefebvre received the 2026 Research Staff Award during the RQMP’s Grand Conference.

Josianne is a research professional in the Department of Engineering Physics at Polytechnique Montréal and oversees the Laboratory for Materials Surface Analysis (LASM). She specializes in surface analysis using spectroscopic and spectrometric techniques, such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS), and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES).

This award recognizes the exceptional quality of her work, her dedication, and her significant contribution to the success of the RQMP—through the training of students, participation in members’ research projects, the execution of industrial contracts, and the management of the RQMP’s shared facility, the Laboratory for Materials Surface Analysis (LASM).

CONGRATULATIONS!
