SUMMARY:RQÉMP & AMA 2026 Summer School
DESCRIPTION:The summer school is an open event accessible to the entire student and research community in materials science\, from undergraduate to postdoctoral levels. Again\, this year\, the Advanced Materials Academy is joining the RQÉMP team in organizing the summer school. Over three days\, the program will feature a wide range of talks covering the different research axes of the RQMP and will include two training sessions offered through the Academy’s program. Professors from academia and experts from professional environments will share their expertise through a diverse series of presentations. Networking activities\, a poster session\, and a competition for the best student presentation will also be part of the program. This is the perfect opportunity to refine your presentation skills while having a chance to win a prize. \n\nThe 2026 edition will take place at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke\, from August 12 to 14\, 2026. \n\n\n\nThe registration fees are $260 for participants requiring accommodation and $200 for those arranging their own lodging. These fees cover all planned activities\, including conferences\, networking opportunities\, round-trip transportation between Montreal and Sherbrooke\, as well as meals. Payment must be made by Interac e-transfer to rqempexec@gmail.com no later than June 23. \nA receipt and a certificate of participation will be provided to facilitate reimbursement by your research group. \n\nAmong our invited speakers\, we are pleased to welcome: \n\n\n\n\nClaude Bourbonnais – Theory\, magnetism\, superconductivity\, phase transitions\nBill Baloukas – Experimental physics\, thin‑film deposition\, optical properties of materials\nLeonard R. MacGillivray – Crystal engineering\, green chemistry\n\n\n\nHere are the training sessions that will be offered by the Advanced Materials Academy:\n\n\n\nEquity\, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) – Introduction to Neuroinclusion\, delivered by Pauline Minkoue\nSustainable Development -The Circular Economy\, delivered by Riadh Mestiri\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is open until June 23: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScs1p8l8K0bof9yk43XKknMIOt5ItQA2ZtC0MhKstRtZIhlIA/viewform?usp=header \n \n\nThank you to the RQÉMP student committee and the Advanced Materials Academy for organizing the summer school!
