Congratulations to Delphine Bouilly for her appointment as co-director of the Thin Layers Group (GCM) at the University of Montreal and Polytechnique, alongside Ludvik Martinu. After 9 years at the head of the GCM, François Schiettekatte will give way to Delphine on June 1, 2023. The entire GCM community thanks François for his years of involvement and dedication.
Delphine Bouilly pursued university studies at the University of Montreal, crowned by obtaining a doctorate in physics in 2013, before pursuing a postdoctoral internship at Columbia University, in New York. There, she developed expertise in the design of miniature electronic sensors, in particular for measuring mechanisms at the molecular level.
She has obtained numerous awards and grants during her studies, including the prestigious Banting Fellowship which rewards the most highly qualified postdoctoral fellows with very promising research potential.
“Through the management position of the GCM, I would first like to encourage the cohesion and scientific animation of our group by developing opportunities for exchange and collaboration between our teams. I would also like to work to support and develop our common infrastructures as well as research professional positions, which together play a crucial role in our research strike force. Finally, I would also be very interested in hearing your ideas and carrying your voice, with our university, the RQMP and of our other partners.
